that is a step that many people do but sometimes not all strategy that we applied in demo account is useful in real account, i already heard many stories like that say their strategy not work in real account but only in demo account. but aside of that all i think we can trade better with demo account since newbie must be trade through demo account first to minimize the risk, right?

how can it be when we can set huge amount of money that we want to trade when the first time we opened forex account?, as long as we have more motivation to earn in forex i think demo account still good as the place to practice for few seconds, but i see that lately there are demo contest which give us real money as prize of our trading result

That's harsh to have huge investments without knowing a single thing how to trade well and to have trading strategy. What's that we are just going to trade and relying on luck? Forex trading is not like that and we are making analysis to increase the chance of making profits and to manage our possible losses. And we can test it in demo.
