US DATA: February TICS data showed monthly net inflows of $107.7 bn in
the bulk of the inflow, $86.90 bn from private investors and $20.8 bn
from foreign official institutions. Foreign residents also bought
$24.80bn of L-T securities, $6.2 bn by private investors and $18.6 bn by
official institutions. US residents bought $14.6bn of foreign
securities. Net foreign purchases of US securities was $10.1bn and after
adjustments, net TIC flows estimated at -$4.9bn. Tsys flows by country
showed China +$12.7 bn, Japan +$13.1bn, OPEC-$0.3bn, Carib. +$0.3bn,
UK-$11.1bn, HK+$6.2bn.
